History of the Chesapeake Arboretum
Originally a farmhouse built all the way back in the 1700s, this area was last occupied by the Williamson family in 1844. Their family cemetery is still located across the street from the arboretum to this day.
Things to Do at the Chesapeake Arboretum
You’ll never run out of activities at the Chesapeake Arboretum! The Chesapeake Arboretum trail map contains over three miles of walking trails that you can explore to get some exercise while admiring the surrounding scenery. The Chesapeake Arboretum Loop is a favorite of many that you will love. This 1.6-mile course provides fantastic views of Lake Hughes and highlights the local wildlife.
